• About the Role

Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB is looking for an experienced Android Platform Developer to contribute to the development of next-generation Android applications, software platforms and connected services. You will work in a technically advanced and collaborative engineering environment, developing high-quality, scalable and maintainable Android applications using Kotlin. The role involves working across the complete software development lifecycle, from feature design and implementation to testing, code reviews, integration and production delivery. You will collaborate closely with software architects, Agile Product Owners and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative Android solutions with a strong focus on performance, quality and customer experience.

• Key Responsibilities
• 1. Android Application & Platform Development

Design, develop and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin. Implement scalable, reliable and maintainable software solutions following agreed design patterns and architectural principles. Develop new application features and functionalities based on product requirements. Contribute to the evolution and development of Android software platforms. Ensure application performance, reliability and quality throughout the development lifecycle. Take end-to-end ownership of the applications and software components developed.

2. Software Testing & Quality Assurance Develop and execute appropriate software tests, including V1, V2 and V3 testing activities. Implement unit tests and automated integration tests. Ensure software quality through systematic testing and validation. Identify, investigate and resolve software defects and technical issues. Support integration activities and ensure readiness for production delivery.

3. Agile Development & Collaboration Collaborate with Agile Product Owners, software architects and development teams. Translate requirements, features and user stories into effective technical solutions. Participate in Scrum ceremonies and Agile development activities. Take ownership of assigned development tasks and ensure timely delivery. Communicate technical progress, challenges and solutions to relevant stakeholders.

4. Code Reviews & Engineering Excellence Conduct and participate in code reviews in accordance with established engineering standards. Follow software development best practices and agreed coding guidelines. Contribute to continuous improvement of development methodologies and technical solutions. Share technical knowledge within the team and across engineering functions. Explore new technologies, frameworks and development practices.

5. Technical Leadership & Knowledge Sharing Demonstrate ownership and accountability for technical deliverables. Support and guide other developers through knowledge sharing and technical collaboration. Contribute to team development and encourage engineering best practices. Take initiative in identifying opportunities for innovation and technical improvements. Help drive positive change within the engineering organization.

Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline. Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience. Strong hands-on programming experience in Kotlin. Solid experience in Android application development and Android platform technologies. Good understanding of Android application architecture, design patterns and software development practices. Experience with TradeFed.

• Practical experience with Android development and engineering tools, including:
• Android Studio
• Gerrit
• Jenkins
• Jira
• Artifactory

Experience in unit testing and automated integration testing. Understanding of software quality assurance and continuous integration workflows. Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to take ownership of technical tasks and drive development activities independently.

• Meritorious Experience
• Experience in the following areas will be advantageous:

Android Automotive platform development. Android platform architecture and system-level software development. Development of connected services and infotainment applications. Navigation system development and integration. Android frameworks and advanced application services. Automated testing and software integration frameworks. Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). Working with distributed international engineering teams. Technical mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing.
